It is dangerous to be highly perceptive in this world.

You get through life every day observing people and their actions. You look at the things you use, topics you talk about and people you hang around everyday and ponder why.

You look at the simplest of things and if you’re perceptive enough, discover hidden insights within them.

There is power in knowing that there are things you don’t know and then working tirelessly in learning about them. This is how you avoid mistakes after all. Wise people learn from not only their own mistakes but others’ too.

But you come to a point when things you’ve observed everyday stop losing the randomness you’d come to associate them with. You start observing patterns that nobody else has and you begin experiencing a maelstrom of emotions.

Some of it is pride of discovering something your peers haven’t. A big part is irritation and envy if the said insight is something you’ve not achieved yet. A tiny part of it is a fervent desire to figure out the puzzle.

On social media, you’ll observe people writing insightful posts but getting little to no attention. You may be one of them.

You’ll also observe people writing motivational quotes and getting an ‘unjust’ amount of attention.

The trap you shouldn’t fall into is looking at the latter group of people as someone to imitate.

You should also know that a stranger on the internet may get likes from other strangers on the internet but would never build enough trust to give truly useful advice to anyone.

And if there’s no trust, there’s no foundation for an online business.

I looked at the statistic of this post: it has ~5k impressions, which compared to the author’s typical short-form impressions, is on the larger side.

Don’t rely on crazy hooks all the time. If there’s a special message in your mind, post it raw. Don’t beat it up into a structured bland pulp and wonder why it performed the same or even underwhelmingly.
