Hey—it’s Yash. Hope you’re having a rocking day.

I’m writing this to you while sipping my favourite blend of coffee in my favourite coffee shop.

I’ve had a long day—2 presentations at work—and I’m exhausted. But writing this newsletter to you was important today—so coffee it is. (But I like coming here so I’m not complaining!)

Anyway, here it is. 1 content insight coming your way.

How To Get Content Ideas That Actually Work

Think about this:

Week after week you pump out tweet after tweet on your favourite topics.

You spend HOURS on your tweets—perfecting your value, refining your hooks and formatting it nicely to make it just right.

Then you post it and get crickets.

All your hard work, time and energy down the drain.

After you do this a few times, you start to realise that there are certain topics and certain kinds of tweets that do better than others.

And it takes a LOT of time to find them by yourself.

Doesn’t it?

You post 2 times a day for 7 days a week and you do it over 5 weeks to get enough data to know that a topic actually works and you can continue with it.

Those are the topics that your audience actually enjoys.

So, is there a way to speed up this process?

What if you already had the data on what content to write?

What if someone else had collected enough data about your relevant audience that you had enough topics to start pumping out value-filled tweets every single day for months at a time?

Well, it’s really simple.

Check out this tweet from a big creator in my space (writing, storytelling, audience-building):

See what he’s doing with this simple question tweet?

He’s collecting data.

And the best part?

He’s collecting data IN PUBLIC. Data that you can use to inspire your own writing.

Let’s look at the comments on his post shall we?

“A big frustration for many is finding the right balance between quality content and audience engagement. “

“Building an audience is really challenging, especially when your heart is set on genuinely helping others, not just collecting likes. It can be frustrating when it feels like your message isn’t reaching the people who could really benefit from it.”

and so on.

When a big creator is doing the market research for you, you should take full advantage and get cracking.

Steal these ideas and start writing to solve these pain points.

Your audience is telling you that these are their grievances.

So use them.

What I typically do is:

  • keep an eye on my favourite big creators in the space that have a similar audience to mine

  • bookmark their question tweets to analyse later

Do this and you’ll always have unlimited ideas to write about that will actually work with your audience.

So now, no more crickets.

Anyway, this is me signing off for today. I gotta finish my coffee.

Talk to you soon,

Ciao,

Yash
